Landstólpi was founded in 2000 and in the beginning the company was mainly in designing and consulting on modification when changing old fashioned farms into free stall barns. The company started importing interiors and technical equipment for free stall barns.
In the years 2002 to 2004 the company increased the product categories they had to offer and started to import manure bags, Urban CalfMom and ventilation systems for barns from UBA. In these years many barns were modified and there was an increase in staff to meet the demand.
In 2005 the company started to work with H. Hardeman in the Netherlands but they are producers of steel structures. Landstólpi started to offer their customers a complete solution in modern barn buildings. Landstólpi offered their customers everything from a blue print to a ready modern barn. In the years 2005 to 2015 Landstólpi has built about 100 steel structure buildings in Iceland of all shapes and sizes.
In 2005 Landstólpi started to develop compound feed in cooperation with DeHeus in the Netherlands for dairy cows in Iceland with great results.
